REVIEW: A Luxury Countryside Escape at Stanton House Hotel

Set within the stunning countryside surroundings of Wiltshire, Stanton House Hotel proved to be the perfect setting for a relaxed and memorable Father’s Day celebration.

From the moment we arrived, the hotel’s peaceful lakeside location and elegant country house charm created a real sense of luxury and escape, despite being just a short drive from Swindon.
 
The atmosphere throughout the hotel was calm, welcoming and incredibly relaxing. With its traditional country house interiors, cosy seating areas and large windows overlooking the lake and surrounding greenery, Stanton House offers the kind of setting where you instantly feel able to switch off and unwind. The combination of classic décor, soft lighting and attentive service gave the hotel a warm yet luxurious feel, making it ideal for special family occasions like Father’s Day.

A Delicious Father’s Day Carvery

The Father’s Day offering itself was excellent. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, with families gathered together enjoying the celebrations in a setting that felt both elegant and comfortable. Despite being busy, the service remained friendly and attentive throughout, helping create a relaxed dining experience from start to finish.
 
The carvery was absolutely delicious, with perfectly cooked meats, crispy roast potatoes, generous Yorkshire puddings and all the traditional trimmings you’d hope for from a proper Sunday roast. Everything was fresh, full of flavour and beautifully presented, making it clear why Stanton House is such a popular dining destination in the area.
 
Saving Room for Dessert

Of course, no Sunday meal is complete without dessert, and the cherry and apple pies we had were both really lovely. Fresh, comforting and packed with flavour, they were the ideal finish to the meal and definitely worth saving room for.
 
A Relaxing Walk Around the Grounds

One of the best parts of the day was being able to enjoy the hotel grounds afterwards. Following lunch, we took a relaxing walk around the beautiful lakeside setting and gardens, which added even more to the overall experience.
 
The peaceful surroundings, countryside views and tranquil atmosphere really make Stanton House feel like a hidden luxury retreat in Wiltshire. Walking around the grounds after such a lovely meal was the perfect way to end the afternoon and made the whole experience feel even more special.
