REVIEW: Delta Hotels by Marriott Swindon Delicious Three-Course Dinner & Mother’s Day Eat & Stay

I recently enjoyed a lovely three-course dinner at Delta Hotels by Marriott Swindon, and it was a thoroughly satisfying experience from start to finish. This year, Delta Hotels are offering a wonderful stay and dine package just for Mother's Day. Stay Saturday and then join them for a delicious Sunday lunch for just £145 per room based on two people sharing.

Nestled just off the edge of Swindon’s historic Old Town, the hotel sits in beautifully maintained grounds that felt peaceful and welcoming as soon as we arrived. Inside, the décor strikes a smart, contemporary-classic balance. The public areas and restaurant have a warm, inviting feel with elegant furnishings and lots of natural light.

The staff were extremely welcoming and showed us to our table. We were especially lucky to have a table overlooking the alfresco dining area and garden. It made our meal feel extra special as we watched the wind through the trees and small animals enjoying the outdoor area. To begin, I had the prawn cocktail, which was fresh and generously portioned. The prawns were succulent and well presented, with a crisp salad base and a nicely balanced sauce that wasn’t overpowering.

For the main course, I chose the roast beef, and it did not disappoint. The roast beef was beautifully cooked, tender, and perfectly pink in the centre, with excellent seasoning throughout. It was served with long-stem broccoli, carrots, roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding, adding great texture to the dish. The roast came with plenty of rich, flavourful gravy, which tied everything together perfectly.

Dessert was a slice of red velvet cake, served with fresh berries, which was moist, light, and indulgent without being too heavy, the ideal sweet finish to the meal.

The restaurant itself is stylishly designed, with a contemporary yet welcoming atmosphere that complements its Old Town location. Its layout makes it a comfortable spot for both casual dinners and special occasions, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Overall, the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the attention to flavour made for a very enjoyable dining experience. The service was exceptionally attentive, with staff anticipating our needs and ensuring every detail was handled promptly and thoughtfully.

On top of the elegant décor and exquisite food, Delta Hotels by Marriot Swindon also offers excellent on-site leisure facilities, including:
  • Indoor heated swimming pool
  • Fully equipped gym
  • Sauna and steam room
  • Spa treatments and wellness options at Sorella Spa
These amenities make it a strong choice for anyone looking to extend Mother’s Day into a relaxing overnight getaway in Wiltshire.
