Review: Sunday Roast at Sustain Farm Shop
We recently visited Sustain Farm Shop & Café situated just outside of Royal Wootton Bassett for their Sunday roast, and it was an outstanding experience from beginning to end.
The Roast menu offers a choice of succulent pork, golden roast chicken, rich grass-fed Angus beef, or a hearty vegetarian option — all cooked with real care and a focus on flavour. The pork is tender and juicy, the chicken has that perfect golden finish, and the beef delivers a deep, farm-fresh richness that really sets it apart.
Each plate arrives generously filled with crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, red cabbage, Yorkshire puddings, creamy cauliflower cheese and stuffing , and a generous helping of rich, silky gravy that brings everything together beautifully. Every element tastes fresh, homemade, and wonderfully comforting — a proper Sunday roast made with real ingredients and real attention to detail.
To accompany the meal, there’s a great selection of warm , soft drinks and artisan beers, offering the perfect pairing no matter what you choose.
If you have room afterwards, there’s a lovely selection of cakes — or you can take one home for later if you're too full (which is very likely!).
Before or after your meal, it’s well worth browsing the farm shop itself. It’s packed with local artisan products, fresh dairy, quality meats, and plenty of unique items you won’t find in a supermarket.
There’s a great play area and a barn to keep the children entertained, making it an ideal spot for families to relax while enjoying a proper Sunday feast.
Sustain’s Sunday roast offers exceptional flavour, high-quality ingredients, and a genuine farm-to-fork experience — all at great value for money. A delicious Sunday tradition and one I highly recommend.
Be sure to book for next Sunday — you won’t want to miss it.
