Trio of arrivals for Swindon Town ahead of EFL Cup opener
Swindon Town have bolstered their squad with no fewer than three signings ahead of the start of their competitive fixture schedule.
Manager Ian Holloway started the week by bringing in forward Joseph Hungbo on a season-long loan from Wigan Athletic.
The former Watford winger arrives having played 39 times for the Latics in all competitions last season.
He told the club website: “I’m raring to go, I can’t wait to get out onto the pitch and get going. I understand it’s a new challenge, a different challenge, but I’m going to take that day by day and strength by strength, and hopefully the results can follow too.
“I feel like after speaking to the gaffer and understanding how he wants me to play, I feel like it will definitely bring out my best attributes.”
Town then followed up by bringing in defender Sam Inwood on a season-long loan from Bolton Wanderers.
The Northern Ireland under-21 international spent last season on loan at Aldershot Town in the National League.
Following his arrival, Inwood said: “I’m buzzing to get it done, and to have already got down here and started training.
“Training was good today, all the lads are sound, the Manager is really, really excitable and I can’t wait to keep going.”
Defender Kaelan Majekodunmi has signed a one-year deal at the Nigel Eady County Ground after successful trial period over the past month.
The Australia youth international arrives after playing for an array of clubs down under.
He said: “I think I’ve done well so far and I’m excited to keep going. It’s been a lot of hard work, so I’m really excited for the season to come.
“The boys have settled me in really well. Everyone is very helpful, and everyone has been really good to me.”
Town begin their competitive fixture schedule with a trip to Cardiff City in the first round of the EFL Cup on Saturday (3pm).
