Swindon Wildcats part ways with Harvey Stead

Defenceman Harvey Stead will not be pulling on the red and white of Swindon Wildcats next season, after the club parted company with the 20-year-old.

Stead struck up a solid understand with fellow youngster Callum Buglass during the previous campaign, and was part of the Great Britain squad who competed at the World Championships.

Playing under the guidance of experienced D-man Neil Liddiard, Stead began to develop his game at the Wildcats and become a popular face upon the ice.

Aaron Nell's reshuffle ahead of the 2016/17 season sees Stead's departure, who will now join up with fellow EPL side Bracknell Bees.

Stead put in 53 appearances for Swindon Wildcats, taking five assists in the process. 

The club's defensive ranks have already been bolstered ahead of the new campaign, with Wildcats bringing in tough tackler Mark Smith - brother of Kenton - from Cardiff Devils.

Stead today took to Twitter to thank the Wildcats, and wish his former team mates the best of luck for the coming season:
