Nichols agrees permanent switch to join Swindon Town
Tom Nichols became Swindon Town’s first summer signing before insisting: “We're not aiming to finish mid-table again.”
The 31-year-old midfielder arrives at the Nigel Eady County Ground following the expiration of his contract at Mansfield.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Town, making 20 appearances and scoring twice.
Speaking to the club website after sealing a permanent switch on a two-year deal, Nichols said: "Really enjoyed my time here last season while I was on loan at the club, and there's such an incredible group of players building as a team too.
“I know all the lads, I know how I want to play, how my teammates want to play, and ultimately I've formed a great relationship with the manager.

"It's going to be a really easy transition, having already played twenty games for the club, and I'm really excited for the new season.
“The manager has really high standards and we're not aiming to finish mid-table again, and we've shown at the back end of the season that we can compete."
