Holloway: There's 'more to come' from Kirkman
Manager Ian Holloway insisted there was “more to come” from full-back Billy Kirkman after he agreed a new one-year contract.
The 22-year-old, who first joined Town in 2024, made 15 appearances for the club in all competitions last season.
And while he has not received an abundance of match minutes, Holloway insisted he saw the potential in the former TNS youngster.
He told the club website: “Billy is a young lad who’s still learning his trade, but we see real potential in him. He’s versatile, he works hard every day, and he wants to improve, and that’s all you can ask for.
“He hasn’t had loads of game time yet, but that’s part of development. What matters is how he trains, how he listens, and how he keeps pushing himself, and he’s doing all of that really well.
“I’m pleased he’s staying with us because we believe there’s more to come from him.”
Kirkman joins Rayan Tafazolli, Harry Smith and Ollie Clarke in signing new deals this summer, while an option on keeper Lewis Ward’s contract has been triggered.
