Holloway gives latest on Swindon Town's transfer plans

Boss Ian Holloway confirmed business was not done at Swindon Town as he looks to bring in more players ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season.

Town made the move to sign centre-back James Debayo on loan from Hull City last week, as they look to build towards the opening game of the season against Cardiff in the EFL Cup on August 8.

And Holloway, whose side have been warm weather training in Alicante over the past few days, insisted the club were still examining the market.

He said: “We'll be building towards what we need. The loan market, we've already jumped in, we've got James Debayo, who I wanted, and he suits us.

“We've got him how we want him, he won't be able to go back unless we want to send him back.

“There are all sorts of things, and obviously, I'm monitoring who's fit and who's going to be coming back, and when they will.

“But it's about knowing what you want. I think we're one or two, maybe even three, short of what I want, so we'll be doing that, trying to fix that whenever we can.”

Town beat local side Costa City 1-0 in Spain on Friday, thanks to a goal from Fletcher Holman from the penalty spot. According to reports Holloway was sent off during the contest.
