Magic from Munroe as Swindon Town seal dramatic win against Tranmere
Boss Ian Holloway insisted flying full-back Finley Munroe is loving his time on loan at Swindon Town after he netted a stunning winner at home against Tranmere.
Goals from Ollie Palmer and Kristian Dennis looked to have cancelled each other out in the latter stages of the clash between the sides at the Nigel Eady County Ground.
But on-loan Aston Villa youngster Munroe sent an unstoppable strike into the far corner of the net with his weaker right foot, to send the home fans wild and seal a 2-1 victory for the hosts.
It meant Town remained level on points with Walsall at the top of League Two, with 29 points from 15 games.
Speaking about Munroe’s winner, Holloway said: "Every member of my staff is trying to claim that the fact they took him for extra right-foot training.
"Well done, mate. If that's your swinger, I need to see your left in full flow, and I'm sure we will.
"He's a wonderful lad. What a great strike. And that's talent, isn't it? He's just got an abundance of it, and it's about making him enjoy himself and believe in himself, and for as long as we have him.
"I'm delighted that he's here. I think he feels like he's a Swindon player, with the way he loves it all.”
Next up for Town is an EFL Trophy clash at MK Dons on Tuesday (7pm kick-off).
