Salford strike late as Swindon Town's winning run comes to an end
Kallum Cesay’s late winner meant Swindon Town’s dazzling run of form came to an end with a 3-2 defeat at Salford City.
Town had found themselves two goals down with 15 minutes on the clock at Moor Lane, with goals coming from Salford duo Jorge Grant and Kadeem Harris.
Town rallied in the second half with Aaron Drinan finding the net, before loanee Jamie Knight-Lebel levelled with seven minutes remaining.
But it was not to be for Ian Holloway’s side as Cesay struck in stoppage time to seal all three points for the hosts.
Holloway told BBC Radio WIltshire: “The second half was much more like I want us to look and believe. To let a late goal in like that is horrific to take because a point here would have been excellent.
“You learn from a defeat and we’ve got to move forward.
“I liked the look of us in the second half. I could see our identity. We were brave, we passed, me moved, we out-moved them. We looked pretty decent.
“But unfortunately too much damage was done. We should have seen it out at the end so the lads are gutted. I’m more gutted with the first half because ‘where were you?’.”
Next up for Town is a home game against Bromley at the Nigel Eady County Ground on Saturday (3pm).
