Holloway happy with 'fantastic test' as Swindon Town beaten at Palace

Boss Ian Holloway described as a “fantastic test” Swindon Town’s loss against Crystal Palace, as they continued their pre-season preparations.

Fletcher Holman’s first-half goal meant Town trailed 2-1 at the interval at the Palace academy.

Holloway then rung the changes after the hour mark as the Premier League Eagles went on to win 5-1.

Assessing the contest, Holloway told the club’s official YouTube channel: “It was a fantastic test for us and we gave them a big test as well.

“If I’m being brutally honest, we started to look like we knew where they were going and we started to cause them problems because we managed to win the ball back.

“Once you do that you start to believe in what you’re doing. Unfortunately we made the changes and everything fell out. The last 20 or 30 minutes was not what I wanted really.

“I’ve never liked losing but that was a positive loss. I know who I like the look of, who is doing all right, who has got to liven up or who has got to go. That’s my job so I’ve got to get on with it.”

Next up for Town is a home game against Bristol City on Saturday, July 25.
