Holloway expects action to be taken after team sheet 'whoopsie'

Boss Ian Holloway described as a “major whoopsie” the team sheet error during Swindon Town’s 2-1 victory over Luton in the EFL Trophy.

Holloway brought on Aaron Drinan as one of three half-time changes against the Hatters, before the game was halted after the administration error was realised.

Centre-back Ryan Tafazolli had been listed instead of Drinan on the official line-up seen by officials.

Explaining the situation to BBC Radio Wiltshire, Holloway said: "I offered to take Drinan off and Jack [Wilshere, Luton head coach] went, 'well that's not his fault is it, just get on with it’.

"There'll be some sort of action because something's gone wrong."

Town won the game and progressed to the last eight, thanks to goals from Will Wright and Filozofe Mabete.

Despite expecting action to be taken by the EFL, Holloway suggested the match officials played their part in the issue.

“When we used to write the team sheet down it was never wrong, was it?" Holloway said.

"But when they get it on an iPad and it's not shown to us, how can I say that is my team and I haven't checked it?

"No-one's checked it and it's too late to check it when the game's gone on and they noticed it because one of their staff noticed it.

"It's a major whoopsie I would suggest from the officials - is that us, is that them?”
