Holloway 'delighted for everybody' after Swindon Town see off Gillingham

Swindon Town manager Ian Holloway expressed his delight to see off the challenge of Gillingham and keep pace with the front-runners at the top of League Two.

Town battled to a 2-0 victory at the Nigel Eady County Ground, thanks to second-half goals from Ryan Tafazolli and Aaron Drinan.

It was their 14^th win from 24 games in the division this season, ensuring they stayed second in the table, two points behind leaders Bromley.

Reflecting after the win over the Gills, Holloway said: “I am delighted for everybody and it is another clean sheet for us, it was a bit lucky, but we got it.

"We did a lot of things right after that, and they got a lot of balls into our box, but we got our bodies in the way.

"I am taking that all day long, as with how I look at things, we have chopped into last year. How did we get on at Cheltenham away last year? We beat them, and we managed to do that again.

"Then, how did we get on against Gillingham at home last year? We drew, so we have just beaten that."

Next up for Swindon Town is a trip to Harrogate on Sunday (3pm).
