Holloway insists Swindon Town were 'playing musical chairs' against Crewe
Boss Ian Holloway accused his Swindon Town side of “playing musical chairs” in the penalty area, after they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Crewe.
Michael Olakigbe’s goal on 64 minutes at the Nigel Eady County Ground proved just consolation for the hosts, after Matus Holicek and Josh March had already struck for the away side.
It meant Town are now fourth in the League Two table, four points behind leaders Bromley having played a game more.
Reflecting on the game, Holloway insisted the goals his side conceded left him deeply disappointed.
He said: "It is the nature of the goals, don't try and nutmeg someone on the halfway line, Tom (Nichols), what are you doing right on half-time?
"And then it's a corner, and the blokes run off of Connor (Ripley) and flicked it in. No one's moved. What does that look like? It looks like last season.
"We ended up playing musical chairs. The music stops, the ball gets kicked in, and we haven't done anything about it.
"I'm not going to be happy with that, and I was expecting us to create all sorts of things and cause them a lot more problems than we actually did.
"Don't get me wrong, we created enough to actually have probably equalised, and I think the draw would have been a fair result, but I want to see us believe in ourselves and go and play and go and move and understand where everybody is and make your own decisions."
Next up for Swindon Town is a home game against Bristol Rovers on Saturday (12.30pm).
