Holloway: 'That's about as abysmal as a performance as I've seen in a long time'
Manager Ian Holloway described as “diabolical” and “abysmal” Swindon Town’s display, as they dropped points in a 2-2 draw at struggling Crawley.
Klaidi Lolos opened the scoring for the hosts at Broadfield Stadium before Town striker Aaron Drinan levelled with a converted penalty on 66 minutes.
And Billy Bodin looked to have won in for Holloway’s side in the first minute of stoppage time, only for Crawley’s Kellan Gordon on net an equaliser in the 98th minute.
The draw meant Swindon Town are now winless in their past three League Two games and sit fifth in the table, two points adrift of third-placed Cambridge United in the final automatic promotion spot, having also played a game more.
Reflecting on the draw at Crawley, Holloway said: "I thought we were absolutely diabolical. I did not recognise my team, I didn't recognise what we were trying to do, and I didn't recognise them from training in the way that they played.
"In the second half, when we make the changes, we let a goal in again, and then everybody seems to start playing after that. This is so infuriating.
"They should be under pressure, not us. We should be enjoying this, and where's the free-flowing football until we go one down?
"So I'm fuming, really, absolutely fuming, not about letting one in, right? I think we were lucky to get a point, to be honest with you, that's about as abysmal as a performance as I've seen in a long time, particularly how well they trained this week.
"This is all I've said from day one, we've done nothing, I'm not celebrating until we've managed to do something.”
Next up for Town in a home game aganst MK Dons on Saturday (3pm).
