Holloway wants improvement after Swindon Town beat Cheltenham

Boss Ian Holloway described as “the biggest fish that we have ever caught” after watching Swindon Town reel in a 2-1 win against Cheltenham Town.

Aaron Drinan and Ollie Clarke were both on target for Town as they registered their first league win of the campaign.

And while he was happy to pick up three points on home turf, Holloway insisted there was still plenty of room for improvement.

He said: "There were lots of really good things about the way that we played, but also so much to work on.

“We have got some new players, and we are going to get better, because of the understanding of what to do at certain times.

"It felt horrendous trying to get it over the line. It felt like the biggest fish that we have ever caught, and they were trying to wriggle out of our net, so I didn't enjoy that side of things.

"Whatever happened, we managed to get a second and hold on until the end, which he didn't manage to do at the end of last year.

"Did I enjoy the game? I enjoyed the score, but the patterns have got to improve, and I am sure that they will.

"This is probably the worst that we are going to feel, because we don't know each other that well yet, but we will do.

"As I told them just now, it is well done to the lads, but I don't want to see them do it like that again.”

Town have picked up four points from their opening two league contests.

They make the trip to Oldham Athletic on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
