The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy second round was expected by many to provide just the medicine Swindon Town needed. After a torrid couple of weeks with defeats left, right and centre, a local derby against neighbours Oxford United provided the opportunity to gain a morale and ego boosting victory. Instead, the robins were left with their tails between their legs. Jordan Turnbull got an early shower, Bradley Barry unfortunately had a trip to hospital with concussion, and Swindon Town got eliminated from the competition.
