Drinan: We’re confident we can achieve something great

Swindon Town striker Aaron Drinan committed his future to the club until 2030 and said: “We’re confident we can achieve something great.”

The 28-year-old has been rewarded for his stellar form in League Two, which saw him land the Golden Boot prize last season.

And with a fresh deal under his belt, Drinan, who scored in Town’s 3-1 win over Port Vale on Tuesday, is eager for the club to kick on.

He said: “It’s absolutely incredible. It’s been a really good two-and-a-half years, and the club came to me with new terms again, and it was an easy decision.

“As soon as I signed my last deal, I carried on from how I was, and it shows the trust the club have in me.”

He added: “Keeping everyone fit and healthy will be important going forward; when we have everyone fit, we’re one of the best teams in the league, and we’re confident we can achieve something great.”

Meanwhile, Town secured the loan signings of defender Dan Butler and forward Antwoine Hackford on deadline day.

Midfielder Danny Butterworth has also agreed a short-term deal after working behind the scenes on his rehabilitation from injury.
