ANTHONY GRANT SIGNS NEW DEAL AT SWINDON TOWN

ANTHONY GRANT has returned and extended his stay at Swindon Town after signing a new one-year deal with the Robins that will keep him at the club for the entirety of the 21/22 season. Total Sport Swindon has more news on the deal below.

Arriving in 2019, Anthony Grant has endured a mixed time in Swindon after being a key figure in the League 2 winning side that earned promotion, before being relegated back to the fourth division last season.

The 34-year-old looked set to join another club this summer after he was released with the previous management choosing not to hand the defensive midfielder a new contract. However, the fan-favourite nicknamed ‘The General’ has decided to re-sign for Swindon after impressing during pre-season under the stewardship of new Head Coach Ben Garner.

Grant has made 66 appearances since arriving in Wiltshire, scoring three goals in the process, picking up 12 yellow cards and cementing his place as one of Swindon Town’s most important players of recent times picking up the Player of the Year Award at the end of the 19/20 season.

Grant has become the third signing in the space of 48 hours and will be included in this weekend’s squad that travels to Scunthorpe for Swindon’s opening match of the League 2 season.
