Signing: Ali Koiki joins Swindon until end of the season

SWINDON TOWN have confirmed their third loan signing of the January transfer window as left-back Ali Koiki joins on-loan from Premiership side Burnley until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old signs for the club at a crucial time of the season with Swindon positioned in 12th place of the League Two table, currently seven points outside of the playoff positions.

Rotating between the ageing Matty Taylor and the inexperienced Ellis Iandolo at left-back throughout the current season, Koiki looks set to become an integral part of the Robins squad as manager Richie Wellens aims to replicate the winning form that saw his side win away at Macclesfield last weekend.

Speaking to the clubs official website following the move Koiki said:

“I’m just really excited to get started – it’s a new chapter in my career and I’m eager to see how things go. It’s the beginning of a journey for me, playing men’s football so really want to get things going.

“The men’s game is spoken about a lot and it’s a big step up from youth football to men’s football so I want to make sure I get into it and make an impact.”

The new signing will be eligible for Swindon's upcoming game against Lincoln at the County Ground on Saturday afternoon.
