South Swindon Parish Council Donates £255 to Commonweal School’s PT
South Swindon Parish Council has donated £255 to Commonweal School’s PTA following the council’s Christmas in Town Gardens Event.
On Thursday 12th February Parish Councillors Neil Hopkins, John Firman and Linda Kasmaty presented Commonweal School Headteacher Mr. Drew, and PTA Chair Kiki Kingsland-Humphries, with a cheque for £255.00.
South Swindon Parish Council worked with Commonweal school to use the school’s car park over the weekends of 13th – 14th and 20th – 21st December, while the council hosted their Christmas in the Town Gardens event. The school kindly allowed the council to use their car park free of charge in order to help visitors attending the attraction.
A lot of residents will remember the event. In December 2025, we invited residents to experience a brand-new winter attraction at the Town Gardens, completely for free. We had Santa’s Craft Corner, giant interactive plants, and magical lantern forest, along with food and drink stalls.
Rather than charging visitors for parking, the council invited voluntary donations instead. The £255 raised from that has itself been donated to the school’s PTA.
PTA representatives expressed gratitude and commented that the funds “will go a long way.”
South Swindon Parish Council is pleased to support Commonweal School, its PTA, and the local community. The council would like to thank both the school and residents who donated.
