Snapped: Wootton Bassett Sprint Triathlon 2014

Sunday the 18th of May saw the masses take to Wootton Bassett for their annual sprint triathlon. With the sun shining and the spectators there in force, it was a great way to spend a sunny Sunday morning. With our very own Liz Ledger taking part, we were of course there to snap the race. The Wootton Bassett Sprint triathlon saw over 150 participants take part in the spectacular 400m swim, 20k bike ride and 5k run. With the sun shining and the sky a gorgeous blue, the weather couldn't have been more perfect. 

The race started with a 400m swim at Wootton Bassett's leisure centre, followed by the 20k bike ride towards the picturesque Malmesbury and Brinkworth then back along the high street. With a cool breeze and warm sunshine, the participants then took to their feet to finish the race with a 5k run around Wootton Bassett's School field. The atmosphere was buzzing; with friends and family out to cheer everyone along.

In first place Matt Griffin came in with an impressive time of 00:55:45. Matt Fisher was close behind taking second place with a time of 00:58:37, and in third place Gary Stretton with a great time of 01:00:00.

A big well done to all those who took part and we can't wait to come back next year!
