Snapped: The Archbishop of Canterbury Visits Swindon
The Archbishop of Canterbury made a surprise visit to Swindon over the weekend.
Justin Welby visited Lydiard Park on Saturday 13th September as part of a three-day visit to the Diocese of Bristol.
The principal leader of the Anglican Church viewed the famous St John Polyptych at St Mary’s Church in Lydiard Tregoze before breakfast and prayer with clergy and church leaders from Swindon Churches Together.
During his visit The Archbishop of Canterbury also cut the ribbon to officially announce the start of Heritage Open days.
Heritage Open Days is a national annual event celebrating England’s architecture and culture by allowing visitors free access to interesting properties that are either not usually open, or would normally charge an entrance fee.
