‘Threads of the Past’: Community Tapestry

A free, drop-in community stitching session inviting visitors of all ages to contribute panels to a collaborative contemporary tapestry inspired by Kelmscott Manor’s tapestry conservation project.

Time: 12.00pm - 4.00pm (last entry 3.30pm)

Venue: Kelmscott Manor

Location: Learning Barn, Kelmscott Manor

Visitors can take part in the ‘Threads of the Past’ creative community by adding stitches to a collaborative contemporary textile piece. Inspired by the tapestry conservation project, participants of every age can contribute a panel that will become part of the community tapestry, planned for display at the Manor in 2027.

  • Free and open to all visitors

  • Drop-in workshop

  • Runs from 12.00pm to 4.00pm (last entry 3.30pm)

  • Connected to the conservation of Kelmscott Manor’s 17th-century tapestries and restoration of the room in which they hang
