Your Total Guide To family

We visited on a gloomy January day and honestly couldn’t have picked a better place. We took our 8-year-old, 5-year-old, and 4-year-old niece, and it was the perfect mix of imaginative play for the children and a relaxed, enjoyable space for the adults too (although we couldn’t resist getting involved in the role play ourselves!).
Mighty Minis is perfectly located on the Avonside Enterprise Park, making it really easy to get to whether you’re coming from Wiltshire, Dorset or beyond. There’s free parking right outside, which is always a win when you’re heading out with children and bags in tow.
We actually met family there as well – we live in Dorset and my brother and sister-in-law live in Chippenham – so Melksham was a brilliant meeting point with no parking charges, no town-centre stress and no hassle.
We arrived a little early before meeting our family, so we popped over to Doubles, an amazing record and coffee shop just a few doors down from Mighty Minis. It was such a lovely way to start the visit. We enjoyed hot chocolates, coffee and cake, and even played one of the games they have out for customers to use while we waited. It’s such a great little area and definitely worth factoring into your visit if you have time.
Inside Mighty Minis, there are so many different role play areas, catering for a wide range of ages and interests. It’s one of those places where children can really use their imagination, and where play feels calm, creative and purposeful rather than overwhelming.
Our 8-year-old absolutely loved the hair salon and spent most of the session quietly practising plaiting – clearly in her element. Meanwhile, the younger two threw themselves into everything.
Their favourites were:
It was lovely to see how naturally the children played, and how the different areas encouraged sharing, creativity and storytelling. And yes, we adults got properly stuck in too – it’s impossible not to!
Mighty Minis also offers very reasonably priced refreshments and snacks, which is ideal when little ones need a break. Understandably, you can only eat food purchased on site, which helps keep everything clean and safe for everyone.
All in all, Mighty Minis is a fantastic indoor activity for kids in Wiltshire, perfect for rainy days, winter visits or simply when you want somewhere relaxed where children can play freely and imaginatively.
It worked brilliantly for us as a meeting point between Dorset and Chippenham, and we’d happily visit again. If you’re searching for things to do with kids in Melksham, Wiltshire or the surrounding areas, this one should definitely be on your list.
It's fantastic value too; sessions are 90 minutes long and at just £8 per child - with an additional £2 per sibling and £2 per adult.
