Christmas in the Town Gardens

Two free festive weekends of family activities in Swindon’s Town Gardens, featuring crafts, live music, characters, markets and food traders.

Christmas in the Town Gardens returns with two completely free weekends of festive family fun in Swindon’s Old Town.

Event times: 12.00pm–4.00pm on 12, 13, 19 and 20 December 2026.

The Town Gardens hosts free-to-access activities for all ages, including Santa’s Craft Corner near the Town Gardens Café, the 2026 installation Written in the Trees, and live music performances at the Town Gardens Bandstand. Each day also includes Christmas character visits, craft market stallholders, a licensed bar and food stalls (charges apply for food, drink and funfair rides).

Accessibility: Mobiloo provides an accessible mobile toilet unit with a hoist and adult changing bench on each event date.

Free parking: Available 11.45am–4.15pm at The Commonweal School, SN1 4JE (voluntary donations encouraged).
