WOMAD Festival to Return to Wiltshire at New Location
One of Wiltshire’s most iconic summer events is officially set to return, as organisers of Womad Festival have confirmed they have been granted a licence to stage the event at its new home in Neston Park near Corsham.
The announcement marks a major milestone for the world-renowned music, arts and dance festival, which last took place in Wiltshire in 2024. After more than four decades of celebrations, and 17 years at Charlton Park near Malmesbury, WOMAD made the decision to relocate in order to safeguard the festival’s long-term future.
A New Chapter for a Much-Loved Wiltshire Festival
Co-founded by musician Peter Gabriel, Womad (World of Music, Arts and Dance) has become a firm fixture in the UK’s cultural calendar, attracting visitors from across the country and beyond. Its move to Neston Park, just outside Corsham, signals a new chapter while keeping the festival firmly rooted in Wiltshire.
Organisers have welcomed the decision by Wiltshire Council, thanking both the local authority and nearby residents for their support throughout the licensing and consultation process. The public consultation, which closed earlier this month, played a key role in shaping plans for the festival’s return.
With the licence now approved, preparations are accelerating as the festival edges closer to returning “to the fields” once again.
Four Days of Music, Arts and Culture
Womad is expected to welcome up to 29,999 people to Neston Park this summer, with live music, performances and cultural events taking place across four days from 23 July 2026.
Known for its diverse line-up, family-friendly atmosphere and global outlook, the festival brings together artists and performers from around the world, making it a standout event in Wiltshire’s summer events calendar.
Neston Park: A ‘Magical’ New Setting
The move to Neston Park has been warmly welcomed by its owners, who saw the potential of the historic Wiltshire estate as soon as the opportunity arose. Set within picturesque countryside near Corsham, the venue offers a striking backdrop for the festival’s blend of music, arts and dance.
Festival organisers have also praised the site, highlighting its atmosphere and suitability for the spirit of Womad, describing the energy of the location as a natural fit for what the festival represents.
Boost for Wiltshire’s Cultural and Visitor Economy
The return of WOMAD is expected to bring a significant boost to the local economy, with visitors supporting accommodation providers, hospitality businesses and independent shops across Corsham, Malmesbury and the wider Wiltshire area.
As one of the county’s most high-profile cultural events, Womad’s presence reinforces Wiltshire’s reputation as a destination for major festivals, arts and live music.
