TGT Meets...Steve Goddard Director at Adventure Point
Meet our latest TGT Meets guest — Steve Goddard, director of Adventure Point. We sat down with Steve to uncover what’s next for this ever-evolving entertainment destination and to get an inside look at what it’s really like to work at one of Swindon’s most exciting and vibrant family attractions. From future plans to the day-to-day buzz of running such a fun-filled centre, Steve shares insights, stories, and a glimpse into the energy that keeps Adventure Point thriving.
1. Tell us about your role at Adventure point.
As Director of Adventure Point, I oversee the day-to-day running of the venue and our amazing team. My role involves everything from developing new experiences to ensuring every guest has a fantastic visit. I’m also focused on keeping the venue fresh, fun, and safe. Making sure we’re always offering something exciting for families, friends, and groups to enjoy.
2. What can visitors find at Adventure Point?
Adventure Point is an indoor entertainment centre offering fun for friends and families, as well as birthday parties and group packages. Visitors can take on a game of Laser Quest, challenge each other at Crazy Golf, solve puzzles in our Escape Games, or try their hand at Interactive Darts. We also have a Café Bar, perfect for relaxing between games with great food and drinks.
3. What makes Adventure Point stand out from similar entertainment venues?
We’re proud to offer so much variety under one roof, there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you’re after fast-paced action, friendly competition, or a fun family day out, Adventure Point brings all those experiences together in one place. We also focus heavily on creating a welcoming, high-quality environment where every detail adds to the experience.
4. What has been the biggest challenge in running Adventure Point, and how have you overcome it?
The biggest challenge has been adapting to constant change from evolving customer expectations to introducing new activities. When Laser Quest Swindon grew into Adventure Point three years ago, it meant rethinking how we operated as a multi-attraction venue. Through teamwork, investment, and listening to customer feedback, we’ve created a space that continues to grow and improve.
5. What role does Adventure Point play in the local Swindon community?
We’re proud to be part of the local community and love seeing families, schools, and groups use Adventure Point for celebrations and team days. We also provide jobs for local people and work with community organisations to help make Swindon an even more exciting place to live and visit.
6. How do you balance safety with fun when designing and running the activities?
Safety is always our top priority, and we build it into everything we do from regular staff training to strict maintenance checks and clear player briefings. At the same time, we make sure the atmosphere stays fun and immersive. The goal is for our guests to enjoy every experience confidently, knowing we’ve taken care of the details behind the scenes
7. Looking ahead, what are your future plans or goals for Adventure Point?
We’re always looking to grow and evolve. Our aim is to keep Adventure Point at the forefront of family entertainment in Swindon, a place people come back to time and time again.
