POPULAR COMEDY DETECTIVE SERIES STARTS SHOOTING IN WILTSHIRE

The popular comedy drama series Agatha Raisin starring actor Ashley Jensen has been putting Wiltshire at its heart as filming on the third season gets underway.

Based on the books of M C Beaton, Agatha Raisin is an advertising executive who moves to the Cotswolds from London for an easier life and becomes an amateur detective, having many adventures all around murder and intrigue. Much has been filmed in Biddestone, Malmesbury and the surrounding area.

The series has proved hugely popular with regular audiences of over 1 million. On Monday (April 15), the production team took over our own tv antiques expert Paul Martin’s Table Gallery in Corsham’s High Street renaming it Bladon Antiques.

Paul said: “It was very exciting to play a small role in this new series and for my own new venture to be part of the set. The crew were here for almost 12 hours and even blocked off the street for a period of time.”

The new season will be a series of four feature-length stories which are adaptations of the books – Agatha Raisin and….the Haunted House, The Deadly Dance, The Love from Hell and As The Pig Turns. One will be a Christmas special. Season Three has been re-commissioned by streaming service Acorn TV and is its first original recommission.
