Good Women: Tapestries in Dialogue with Kelmscott Manor is Kelmscott Manor’s 2026 exhibition and a solo presentation of new work by tapestry weaver Chrissie Freeth.

Tapestries take centre stage at Kelmscott Manor in 2026. Freeth’s work draws inspiration from early, pre-Renaissance tapestries and reflects on the relationship between historic weaving skills and contemporary narrative. The series title, Good Women, references Geoffrey Chaucer, a writer who also influenced William Morris across his writings and designs.

The exhibition is designed to be experienced on the Manor’s public open days and is included as part of general admission.

• Date/Time: 11 June 2026 at 10.30am – 31 October 2026 at 4.30pm

Freeth’s work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy and at Artapestry6, and she has been shortlisted for the Cordis Prize.
