Christmas at Marwell Zoo

Enjoy a festive family day out at Marwell Zoo, with animal encounters, seasonal activities, Christmas markets, Santa’s Grotto and the new Fire & Ice evening experience.

Festive Day at Marwell Zoo | 10am–4pm
Explore the zoo and enjoy a snowball fight zone, ice maze, Fire Forest fubbles, Snow Window trail and snow machines.

Fire & Ice | 4pm–7.30pm
Discover illuminations, live performances and interactive fun inspired by wildlife in winter. Highlights include fire performers, a fire dragon, an interactive Floor is Lava installation, an illuminated ice maze, snowball fights and marshmallow toasting.

Santa’s Grotto
Take a 45-minute journey through Marwell Hall, beginning in the Frozen Forest. Enjoy Nordic Forest storytelling, make a wish jar or wish star, then meet Santa privately as a family. Every child receives a gift worth £14.95.

Christmas Market & Roaming Performers
On peak dates, browse food, drink and gift stalls outside Marwell Hall from 11am–6.45pm. Daytime visitors can also meet the Ice Enchantress and Fire Wizard between 10am and 3pm.

Quiet Sessions | 10 & 17 December
Enjoy reduced visitor numbers, quieter music, slower or static lighting, and adapted grotto sound and lighting.

Activities vary by date. Grotto bookings require daytime or evening admission. Members receive free pre-booked daytime entry; Explorer and Premium members receive selected discounts. Group discounts are available for 20+ guests.
