'I think this boy is going to shine' - Holloway hails Olakigbe afer win against Barrow
Manager Ian Holloway hailed the performance of winger Michael Olakigbe against Barrow and insisted: “He can shine like a diamond in the sky.”
The 21-year-old, signed on loan from Brentford at the start of January, put in a man of the match display as Town sealed a 3-1 win to get back to winning ways in League Two.
And despite the goals coming from strikers Ollie Palmer and Aaron Drinan (2) at the Nigel Eady County Ground, Holloway reserved high praise for the young winger, who reportedly turned down a permanent transfer to remain at Swindon Town.
Holloway said: "I'm delighted for the boy, with the boy, because other things have happened since he's been here.
"Other people have come in, and he could have gone somewhere else, but he didn't want to in the end.
"I think this boy is going to shine, and he's going to help us get where we want to get to.
"I believe, I hope, and I can help him with everything that he needs to add to the wonderful skill and personality that he's got.
"You saw all of that today on a terrible pitch, in a terrible rain, even when we were behind, he lit it up for us. And I'm really delighted with him.
"I'm delighted with him, because he has everything, and all I have to do is make him believe that he can do anything.
"He can shine like a diamond in the sky, and he did today, and I'm so pleased for him."
Victory put Swindon back to sixth spot in League Two. They make the trip to Harrogate on Tuesday.
