Holloway not happy despite first win of league campaign
Boss Ian Holloway insisted his Swindon Town team needed to “learn to take responsibility” despite sealing their first points of the League Two campaign.
Town recovered from going a goal down to beat Cambridge United 3-2 at the Nigel Eady County Ground, thanks to goals from Aaron Drinan, Harry Smith and David Oldaker.
But despite getting a win on the board, Holloway revealed how he still went “ballistic” at his players after full-time.
He said: "We have got three points in the bag, they almost wriggled out, and that is all that matters.
"Let's see if we can get another performance, let's see if we can learn to take responsibility.
"My team needs to make sure that every single player knows everybody else's role, and tell them to do it before it happens.
"The first goal came from one throw-in, where it got thrown in and played back. It is so simple, and somebody didn't go to their man because they were not marking the right one.
"That is their (the players’) job, not ours, but we keep doing it and doing it and reminding them.
"I have just gone absolutely ballistic in there at them. I do apologise, but you can do that when you get what you want.
"We managed to get what we wanted in the end, but did I like it? No. Does that matter? No, it is three in the bag."
Next up for Town is a trip to Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday (7.45pm).
