Oldaker: Swindon Town 'a move I couldn't turn down'
New recruit Darren Oldaker described as “a move I couldn't turn down” his decision to join Swindon Town on a two-year contract.
The 26-year-old arrives at the Nigel Eady County Ground after playing 40 games for Chesterfield in League Two last season.
He also helped captain the Spireites to the National League title in 2024.
Now, the Guildford-born midfielder becomes Ian Holloway’s latest signing for next season.
Oldaker said: "I'm thrilled to be here and eager to get started. Swindon is a club with great ambition and a family club with great values and supporters. As soon as I heard of the interest, it was a move I couldn't turn down.
"Every conversation I've had with Ian Holloway has really resonated with the style of football I want to play, and the ambition of the manager and the club perfectly aligned with me. I can't wait to meet the supporters and play at our incredible stadium."
Oldaker joins Tom Nichols as the new, permanent signings at Swindon Town so far this summer.
Nichols arrived on a permanent deal last week, following a successful loan spell last season.
