More than 100 small business owners attended the official opening of The Foundry
More than 100 small business owners attended the official opening of The Foundry, a small business accelerator hub, which is part of Swindon's Workshed.
Supported by Sir Robert Buckland MP KC and Swindon Mayor Abdul Amin, the room was packed with local small business owners who wanted to show their support for those taking the plunge to start their own enterprises in the town.
Among those business owners currently benefiting from the support on offer were:
- Louise Smith of The Social Smith
- Tommy Hatto & Lorna Wilkins of Tommy Hatto Online
- Robert Hobbs of Four Friends Drinks
Guests heard how The Foundry and its team were helping them all to understand the 'art' of business, providing a safe space for networking and discussions with each other and providing sector specific knowledge when needed.
The Foundry offers a three-month programme of intensive support for eligible new businesses and is supported by various partners including Outset, Swindon Borough Council, Swindon & Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Metro Bank, Thrings Solicitors, Monahans, the FSB and techSPARK.
