Swindon Town sign Oldham Athletic's Ollie Banks on loan deal until the end of the season
Swindon Town have confirmed that Oldham midfielder Ollie Banks has joined the club on loan deal until the end of the season.
Robins manager David Flitcroft confirmed his interest in Banks during Thursday's pre-Forest Green press conference and the signing has now been formally announced by Swindon.
Banks is a 25-year-old centre midfielder who has most recently been on loan at National League outfit Tranmere Rovers where he scored one goal in eight appearances.
He started his career at Rotherham United and had loan spells at Sheffield FC, Buxton and Stalybridge Celtic before brief times at Gainsborough, Scarborough, North Ferriby and FC United of Manchester before he joined Chesterfield in 2013.
The midfielder scored nine goals in 81 games for Chesterfield between 2013 and 2016 and was on loan at Northampton for a short period in 2014.
In the 2013-14 season he was part of the Chesterfield team that won the League Two title.
In 2016, Banks signed for Oldham and has scored two goals in 40 games up to this point.
Banks' contract at Oldham expires at the end of the season so would be available to sign on a free transfer, should Swindon wish, at the end of the campaign.
