A win against the Sheffield Steedogs the previous evening set Swindon in good stead and before long, it would be the 'Cats who would return to scoring goals.
In fact it only took 41 seconds for Swindon to take the lead after Matias Perkkio opened the night's scoring from a simple rebound play. Adam Taylor would help Telford even the game as the first period wound to a close and keep the action close between the two sides.
Within 21 seconds of the restart Swindon then had their second of the night, this time with Swedish forward Jonas Hoog tucking in the puck whilst the Wildcats played shorthanded. In a repeat to the first period the Tigers again would find reply, however with Scott McKenzie earning his first of the night to level the scores at 2 a piece.
Nearing the half way stage of the game then brought about a real change to the game's momentum, as Swindon would find two quick goals in the space of 70 seconds. The first coming from previous scorer Hoog, before Nicky Watt would then make it four with a wristshot on net to beat netminder Declan Ryan.
Swindon's top performing line then hit once again in the 32nd minute, as Hoog would supply Perkkio with a pin-point pass to make it four.
A dominant second period made for a 7-3 scoreline and one that took just minutes to change early in the third. With a large amount of room down the wing, Hoog would once more deliver a blow to Telford with a precise wrist shot to sound off the post.
A sublime finish by the import notched an eighth for the travelling side with Hoog collecting his hat trick for his night's efforts. The Tigers would find a consolation goal through Jaroslav Kruzik however with little time remaining, the damage had been done.
