Swindon Town sack academy manager Jeremy Newton following internal investigation

Swindon Town have today announced that academy manager Jeremy Newton has had his contract terminated with immediate effect following an internal investigation.

In a very brief statement, Swindon Town said:

"Swindon Town Football Club can confirm that Academy Manager Jeremy Newton's employment has been terminated with immediate effect following an internal investigation into the Academy.

"At this time the club can make no further comment regarding this matter."

No details have been released as to what the investigation was about.

There has been no information as yet regarding a possible replacement for Newton.
