ON-THE-WHISTLE MATCH REPORT: Swindon 1-2 Bristol Rovers
Raphael Branco conceded a penalty and scored an own goal in the space of a minute as Bristol Rovers came from behind to claim the derby day bragging rights.
Swindon had taken the lead after just six minutes when Lloyd Jones scored from a corner, but that was all for nothing due to Branco's minute of hell.
He first dragged down Ellis Harrison in the box for an 83rd-minute Bristol Rovers penalty, which was converted by Matty Taylor and then he diverted a low cross by Jermaine Easter into his own goal just a few seconds later.
The result leaves Swindon without a league win in four games as they creep closer to the bottom four in League One.
Town started the game the brighter when Jones was first to Sean Murray's right-sided corner kick to head Swindon into the lead against the Gas.
Swindon had threatened even before then, however.
After just a matter of seconds Nathan Delfouneso shot wide as a result of James Brophy's cross, but the ex-Villa man could not connect on the shot properly.
Minutes later Darnell Furlong had a header tipped over the bar by Bristol Rovers keeper Kelle Roos, and the goal came from the resulting corner.
Town's best chance without scoring though came late in the second half when substitute Luke Norris had an effort from point-blank range kept out by the aforementioned Roos after captain Nathan Thompson had played him in following a pass disguised as a dummy shot.
That aside, it was all Bristol Rovers - but even they only had one clear-cut chance that did not end up in a goal, although it should have done.
Ollie Brown struck the post for the temporary yellows and the rebound fell to striker Rory Gaffney with no-one to beat although somehow he only found the side netting and Swindon survived somehow, but only until the last 10 minutes.
Swindon now travel to Oldham on Saturday as they look to end their barren run.
