Due to Town's model of developing young talent, Delfouneso is the joint-oldest member of the Swindon squad along with Jon Obika and Raphael Branco despite only being 26 years of age.
"It is (bizarre). I am used to looking up to experienced players but it is something different, it is another experience for me and part and parcel of it.
"I am still learning but whatever I can give to the rest of the players I am happy to do so.
"We are all working together and hopefully we can do something great this season."
Delfouneso has been capped by England at Under 16, 17, 19 and 21 level but says he has not yet used his international experience to help the younger members of the Town team.
"It has not been mentioned too much to be fair," he said.
"I have come in and I have tried to get up to speed and I am getting close to it now but the more I play the closer I get and I am starting to perform really well and play really well.
"I am starting to get goals which I believe I can do.
"My experience for England was great for me but if there is anything I can give to the rest of the players I don't know, it's a different sort of experience."
