Delfouneso has signed a one-year deal at the County Ground following the expiration of his contract at Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers in the summer, where he scored one goal in 15 matches for the one-time Premier League champions.
The move comes about with Jon Obika and Luke Norris both being sidelined with groin and ankle injuries respectively which leaves Town with only one fit recognised striker in Jermaine Hylton.
As well as Blackburn, Delfouneso has had spells at Aston Villa, where he learned his trade and scored two top-flight goals as well as loan spells at Burnley, Leicester, Blackpool, Coventry City and Bury.
He represented England at U16, U17, U19 and U21 level between 2006 and 2012, scoring 21 goals across the four age levels.
Delfouneso will be in line to play against Port Vale on Saturday.
