Minturn: 'It means a lot to me and my family to play for the club'

Swindon Town defender Harrison Minturn insisted he still got “goosebumps” when he stepped out on the field for the club.

The 20-year-old, who came through the club’s academy structure, made his first-team debut in 2021 and has since gone on to make 40 senior appearances in all competitions.

Injury curtailed the youngster’s most recent season, but Minturn was delighted to be rewarded with a new deal keeping him at the club until at least the end of 2027.

He told the club website: "Really happy to sign another deal here, obviously being from Swindon it means a lot to me and my family to play for the club, it’s a pleasure and a privilege.

"Club means everything to me, still get nervous putting on the shirt each game and still get goosebumps when I walk out onto the pitch.

“It’s every football fan's dream to play for their club and I want to be part of getting the club back to where it belongs.”

Town are set to get back in action tomorrow, when they visit Swindon Supermarine in their first pre-season contest.

It is a first chance for new head coach Mark Kennedy to see his new look squad in action, someone Minturn is delighted to be working with.

"The gaffer had a big impact on me signing as he has everything I want in a coach,” said the defender.

“I think he’s got the right morals and skills that suit me and can help me and teach as he’s had a great career himself and he can pass that experience down so there’s no one really better to learn off.”
