Young duo finalise deals to sign for Swindon Town
New Swindon Town defender Filozofe Mabete insisted he was ready to start a new chapter in his career.
The 20-year-old centre-back has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the Nigel Eady County Ground, following the expiration of his contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
And having been at Wolves since the age 12, Mabete is eager to make a new home with Ian Holloway’s side.
He said: "Literally, I am so happy to be here, from the first phone call I had with the club and the opportunity to join a club like Swindon, I was just so excited.
"This is a new chapter for me and my family, every single member of my family joined me in this process in signing for Swindon, they are all so happy for me.
“When I spoke to Ian Holloway, he made my decision so easy, I knew from that first conversation, Swindon was my next home."
Town have also snapped up midfielder Joe Snowdon on a one-year contract following the expiration of his deal at Leeds United.
"I'm buzzing to be here at Swindon as it's a club full of history and I'm just really looking forward to getting started and getting going,” said the 20-year-old, who was on the books at Manchester City as a youngster.
"I'm a versatile player, but I like to get on the ball, get goals, and get assists. I've managed to get my first taste and exposure to men's football last season in the National League Cup and also the EFL Trophy.
"I spoke to Ian, he was incredible to speak to, so refreshing, and he didn't seem in a rush when he spoke to me. He gave me so much of his time, and I really can't wait to start working with him."
Town have now added five fresh faces to their squad, having already agreed deals to sign Tom Nichols, Darren Oldaker and James Ball.
