Henry, who signed his professional contract two weeks after his 18th birthday, played in goal during Swindon's 2-1 win over Chelsea U23s in the EFL Trophy as preparation for Saturday's Bury match.
Regular Swindon goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux will miss the weekend game due to a red card he recieved in the 2-0 loss at fierce rivals Oxford United last Saturday. Vigouroux could have played against Chelsea as league suspensions are separate from the EFL Trophy, however Henry was deployed to get the youngster game time.
Manager Luke Williams believes it was "very important" that Henry got 90 minutes under his belt pre-Bury and went on to lavish praise on the stopper.
"When you are sidelined for a while you can lose your edge, but Will is extremely professional so he does everything correctly to keep himself sharp and ready to go at anytime.
"But there is nothing that can substitute the real thing. He played in a reserve game and was very good, but tonight it was more tense and it is more similar to what he will face at the weekend so I am very pleased that he came through that and done well."
Williams would later confirm he is aware which goalkeeper will be used on the bench, but refused to be drawn on who that might be.
