Holloway wants to see confidence, belief and work-rate from Swindon Town squad

Boss Ian Holloway stressed the need to see confidence in his players as he got to work with Swindon Town this week.

The 61-year-old manager has been pictured with his squad after replacing former head coach Mark Kennedy at the County Ground last Friday.

The job is Holloway’s first in management since 2020 with the Robins 22nd in League Two, with 12 points from 14 games.

The former QPR and Blackpool boss told BBC Radio Wiltshire: "I want to see some confidence, I want to see some belief, some work-rate with each other.

"I want to see some connection between them and I want to see that they're enjoying their football and that's what I'll be working on.

"Making it more and more a movement that they're used to rather than something new that they've got to learn and they don't know each other."

Town host Colchester in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday (3pm).

Holloway added: "I'm going to give them some patterns that they play to and principles that they live on and work on to make us more consistent and hopefully get some draws and victories, rather than defeats.”
