Holloway's immense pride after Town find dramatic late winner

Boss Ian Holloway expressed his immense pride after Swindon Town grabbed three points in the dying moments of their 2-1 win against Shrewsbury Town.

Aaron Drinan capped off a slick team move after seven minutes for the hosts at the Nigel Eady County Ground.

But the spoils looked set to be shared when Callum Stewart popped up with a 90^th-minute leveller for the Shrews.

Town were not done there however, with Billy Bodin netting in the third minute of stoppage time to send the home fans wild.

Holloway, who lost striker Harry Smith to an ACL injury at Barnet on Tuesday, said: “I have never been prouder of a team in my life, out of all of my 1000 games

"Some of the chances we created today, with the lack of practice of that team, because of the injuries, I had to explain that sometimes you risk things.

"We were so nervous last year and we risked things and it was killing us, because we gave it away. We played some half-decent football in the wrong areas, so I felt I had to change it and Harry was the cheat card.

"But now we have to go for this, there is no other way of us getting it there, we cannot compete with that.

"With the young ones that I have got, with the talent that they have, we are going to have to work it.

"All I was shouting was, 'Pass, move, play, move, play, move,' and we stopped playing for a period, then once I screamed, they started to do it again.

"That is what we have got to do, I cannot do anything else now. The lads were brilliant on Thursday with what I had to come up with, and for them to be able to do it as well as that in one training session is outstanding.”

Victory left Town eighth in League Two, with nine points from their opening five games. They make the trip to Crewe next Saturday (12.30pm).
