Newly Revamped Section of Swindon Town Centre Reopens with Green Additions & Security Upgrades
A large area of Swindon's town centre has reopened after a period of closure, whilst enhancements were made. The newly unveiled area now features more greenery, seating, lighting and improved security, all aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.
Specifically, the stretch known as The Parade, situated outside the H&M store, has been transformed into a more welcoming public space, and the old underpass has been replaced with an open crossing.
The contractor, Colas, will continue to work, completing the planting scheme and replacing any underperforming shrubs.
This reopening is part of the wider Fleming Way regeneration, which will also feature bike lanes, solar-powered bus shelters, charging points, and over 180 trees when completed later this summer.
