The team from Barnes Travel share their review of 2022!

Barnes Coaches are the largest coach operator in the Swindon, Wiltshire area with over 102 years’ experience in travel and tourism across the UK & Europe.

They offer a wide variety of sectors including coach holidays, day trips (Inc. theatre show trips & concerts) as well as private hire. Here they share their five positives from 2022!

2022 has been our year for getting back to normality! We’ve had a full year of getting back on the roads doing what we do best, out and about exploring with our customers. 

• During the School Summer Holidays, we carried 4,146 passengers on summer day trips, being a great increase from our last comparable year in 2019. We had numerous trips to the seaside, shopping trips and great family attractions.
• We’ve seen a massive increase in returning customers that have been with us for many years, plus being able to welcome on brand new customers which is always a pleasure. More and more people are now choosing to travel by coach, where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the journey in an environmentally friendly way.
• Many of our coach tours for both our holidays and day excursions have been selling out quicker than ever! For example, our Isle of Scilly dates for 2023, (which were released at the start of November in our new holiday brochure) sold out within a matter of a few days of going on sale!
• We’ve welcomed new vehicles to our fleet, Two new 53 seaters in March, plus our new team coach in September. (Insider knowledge…We also have a new 19-seater minibus joining our fleet in January, and another 53-seater and a 61-seater in March!)
• Our coach driver apprenticeship scheme has been a great success for another year running, passing 6 new coach drivers on the road in 2022 (Plus 3 more just about to take their final tests!)
