Stefan Thomas has a busy autumn coming up!

We’re almost at the end of September and we’ve been talking to business owners about how the month has gone for them.

Up today is Stefan Thomas who is a keynote speaker and author of Business Networking for Dummies. Stefan speaks to audiences, inspiring and motivating them at business conferences and events.

How was your summer as we go into autumn? Any highlights for you or your business?
The speaking season has picked up again for me and I’ll be speaking at events for OxLep, the Great British Expos and the Best Businesswomen Awards as well as my own events!

What’s has been happening for your business in September?
This month I’ll be running The Networking Success Programme with a group of business owners, based all over the UK, who have chosen to work with me to improve their networking skills!

It was also the Paralympics which ended on September 8. Did you watch, what do you think of this tournament? Were there any standout moments for you?
I’ve been rubbish at playing sports since I was at school so I am always impressed with anyone who can play sports. The Paralympians are amazing and, of course, I have met Chris Hunt-Skelley who won a bronze medal for judo, and his wife Louise who was a presenter for Channel 4 this time - so am immensely proud to actually know two of the people involved.

September is also known as ‘organic’ month – when it comes to your business what do you do to be ‘more green’? If it’s in business, do you work with other brands to be more sustainable?
I’ve made steps to be ‘greener; by moving out of a rented office and working from home which means I’m commuting less. I’m completely committed to travelling less and use Zoom for meetings and conversations. I’m also completely paperless in my business.

World Gratitude Day took place this month (Sept 21). What are you grateful for in your business/organisation/at home?
I’m grateful to have a business and that the recent period of sickness that I’ve had has given me time to think and has led my business in a slightly different direction.

What are your hopes for business for the rest of this year? Are you launching a new product, service, running an event or something else later in the year?
I’m currently writing my next book which will be published in Q2 2025 and I’m very excited about it.
