Despite dropping a goal in the early minutes to the Steeldogs' Andrew Hirst, Swindon soon found their rhythm on Sheffield ice. It took just 15 seconds for the 'Cats tie the scores with forward Nicky Watt notching the first for Swindon on a loose puck opportunity.
Three minutes on and Swindon then made it two, this time with defenseman Tomas Fojtik finding Aaron Nell on the back post for a simple tap in.
Moments from the end of period would then bring about Swindon's third goal of the night, as a three on one opportunity presented 'Cat import Matias Perkkio to slot the puck past James Flavell.
The second period quickly brought about another change on the scoreboard, as the home side netted through Pavel Gomeniuk and a simple wristshot that would strike the lower left corner and past netminder Dean Skinns.
To the delight of the Sheffield crowd the Steeldogs then evened the scores in the 35th minute, with Korhon chasing an initial blocked shot and tapping in the third for his side.
This left for a third period with the game all tied and one that was still within reach for both teams to grab the victory. Within six minutes it would be Swindon who would take that all important next lead, with Swedish import Jonas Hoog finding the net after previous scorer Perkkio's initial blocked shot.
Chances were exchanged from both sides as the period continued however the game soon presented the final two minutes standing between Swindon's first away win of the month. Being a goal down the Sheffield Steeldogs made a last ditch attempt to pull their netminder for the extra attacker and push for a tying chance.
However when the puck landed at the stick of Swindon D-man Jan Melichar, a launch of the puck would see it travel across the rink and enter the empty net for a final fifth goal for the Wildcats.
